The purpose of the course is to define and teach the best practices for conducting a mold inspection of a building. The student will learn how to find and report mold growth that may exist in a building by performing a visual examination and mold sampling of the building.
The student will learn:
Dr. John D. Shane, vice president of Pro-Lab's Laboratory Services and chief mycologist, is the guest expert. He demonstrates how to use mold sampling equipment and devices. On-site, actual visual examinations and mold sampling are performed at several buildings.
The course is designed primarily for commercial and residential property inspectors. Public health and environmental health professionals who are involved with mold issues may be interested in this course. Building managers, custodians, remediators, contractors, and other professionals who respond to mold problems may also want to refer to this course.
Successful completion of this course is a requirement for membership in the International Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants (www.IAC2.org). This course has been approved by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (www.InterNACHI.org).
